Lama Trust is a humble initiative fuelled by the passion and commitment of the founder V.Shunmugavelu. It was established in 2015, following the passing of his wife, S. Lalitha, who served as the profound inspiration behind the trust. Named after her endearing title, "LAMA" (LAlitha amMA, the trust embodies her enduring spirit.

Lama Trust, is a non-government, family-run organization, situated in Bodinayakanur, Tamil Nadu, the couple's hometown.The trust is dedicated to supporting the less privileged segments of society, focusing on education and healthcare needs. The trust operates as a self-funded entity, reflecting the family's commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
